Warhammer 40k: Space Marine Video Leak

It appears that an Alpha video for an upcoming console/pc game Warhammer 40k: Space Marine was “leaked” today. Of course we all know leaked is just a marketing term trying to hype a game by releasing teaser footage. It is in alpha so remember that when you watch it. For alpha though, I think its pretty impressive and I cant wait to see more. Anyways, here is a current link that may or may not be around for much longer. If it does disappear, remember that google is your friend. Enjoy!

 WAR Goes Gold

EA AND MYTHIC ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCE THAT
WARHAMMER® ONLINE: AGE OF RECKONING™
HAS GONE GOLD
Award-Winning Fantasy MMORPG Marches Toward Sept. 18th Launch

FAIRFAX, Va. – August 26, 2008 – GET READY FOR THE WORLDWIDE WAAAGH! Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) and Mythic Entertainment today announced that the highly-anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning™ (WAR), has gone gold and will open its servers on September 18, 2008 at an MSRP of $49.99 in North America.

“We’ve done our best to create the next great MMORPG experience, but it’s the fans that will bring our world to life,” said Mark Jacobs, vice president at EA and general manager of Mythic Entertainment. “The Day of Reckoning approaches and it’s going to be glorious! It’s time to go to WAR.

Based on the popular tabletop game from Games Workshop, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is an epic fantasy MMORPG featuring innovative Realm vs. Realm™ game play that pits the forces of Order and Destruction against one another on the battlefield to determine the fate of nations.

Awarded “Best Online Game” at the recent Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany, “Best PC Game” of E3 by G4′s X-Play and “Best MMO” of E3 by IGN, WAR has been well-received by critics and by the gaming community as an accessible and engaging MMO title. Tens of thousands of players have already joined the battle in the closed beta, and soon the time will be at hand for players the world over to pledge their allegiance to the armies of WAR.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is scheduled to launch simultaneously in North America, Europe, and Oceania on September 18, 2008. Available for PC, WAR is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB. For more information, visit http://www.warhammeronline.com/.

Good news for those of us who love warhammer in any form we can get it. While I would be happier announcing 40k online, this will at least feed my mmo addiction and hunger for Chaos. Now to just wait untill September for it to be released. Enjoy!

 WAR NDA Lifted

The fine folks at mythic have lifted the NDA for the most part. There are still some aspects of beta under NDA but all the general information such as classes, skills, items, zones, etc. can now be found and discussed in forums, irc, etc.. wardb.com is a great place to go for almost everything relating to warhammer online and I expect it to be one of the main sources to go to for looking up items, quests, and so on. Anyways, you can read about the NDA lift at the link below. Enjoy!

Mythic Announces Open Beta Info For WAR

Mythic Entertainment, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) studio, today announced that the open beta for their highly anticipated MMORPG, Warhammer® Online: Age of Reckoning™ (WAR), will begin on September 7th, 2008. This means that hundreds of thousands of fans will be able to enter the gritty fantasy world of WAR to experience the thrill of Realm vs. Realm™ (RvR) combat before the game goes live on September 18th, 2008. Players can get into the North American open beta by pre-ordering WAR or visiting IGN’s popular game download site FilePlanet.com to sign up for a limited number of spots.

“For three years we have been saying that ‘WAR is coming’ and the team has been working hard to deliver on this promise,” said Mark Jacobs, co-founder and general manager of Mythic Entertainment. “In just a few weeks, we are going to throw open our doors and invite more players into the game than ever before. They will have a chance to delve into the open beta and see for themselves that WAR has arrived and it is glorious!”

They will then be able to download the open beta client from FilePlanet.com at no additional cost.

Prior to the open beta, Mythic will be hosting a special North American Beta Preview Weekend, from August 22nd through August 25th, and 100,000 players will be invited to end the closed beta with a bang. Those who pre-ordered the now sold-out Collector’s Edition will get top priority, but all are welcome to sign up at FilePlanet.com and try for a spot in this exciting event!

Available for PC, Warhammer Online is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB. WAR will be the first MMORPG to launch servers simultaneously in North America, Europe, and Oceania when it goes live on September 18th, 2008. For more information, visit http://www.warhammeronline.com/.

Its finally coming down to that time when this game will be released and available for everyone to enjoy. While I am not extremely impressed with the artistic direction the game has taken, as I am not a fan of WoW, I am unfortunately a Warhammer junkie so I will definitely be playing it. While I have my doubts, hopefully it will keep me entertained long enough for Vigil Games to get Warhammer 40k Online into Beta/Released status. Anyways, see you all in open beta and retail. Enjoy!

 Working on a Fansite

Well I haven’t had much time to post here as I have been busy working on a new fansite. I wasn’t planning on doing a fansite ever again due to the headaches they can cause but being a huge Warhammer 40k fan, I decided to start working on a fansite for Warhammer 40k Online. I’m still working on the theme and content (what little there is), so make sure you visit it every now and then for updates. Anyways, the site is http://wh40k.com/ and if you are a fan of warhammer 40k make sure you stop by and say hello. Enjoy!
